Project Description
Brittany Holiday
Director of Community Engagement
Brittany Holiday is The Village’s new Director of Community Engagement, playing a critical role in forging connections with people and organizations in our neighborhood, engaging members of government, and developing partnerships with local and national arts and culture organizations. Brittany has a strong relationship with the community, having stewarded the Fairhill-Hartranft ABCs and led the convening of The Culture & Community Power Fund.
Brittany previously served as The Village’s Director of Youth & Young Adult Programs. While she started in 2021, she has a much longer history with The Village. She spent several years on The Village’s Board of Directors and worked at several other neighborhood partner organizations.
Before coming to The Village, Brittany served as the Director of Graduate Support at Hope Partnership for Education and the Program Director at Ones Up. She is also the co-founder of Rising Queens, curating after-school youth programming, overnight retreats, community service events, and leadership development opportunities for Black girls and women throughout the city.
Brittany is a committee member of the Philadelphia Philanthropy Network’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She has been presented with Billy Penn’s Who’s Next in Education Award for 2017 and was a member of Leadership Philadelphia’s Connectors and Keepers Class of 2020. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware, where she studied abroad in Ghana and completed degrees in Black American Studies and Political Science.
In addition to her passion for education, youth, and community empowerment, Brittany produces her own art through Joyful Soul Designs, which is focused on providing Black joy. She creates hand lettering designs and calligraphy, as well as bridal makeup and face painting.
