CRED Philly Magazine
CRED Philly Magazine is an arts and culture magazine that amplifies the voice and vision of Philly’s young artists, designers, journalists, activists and entrepreneurs by providing them with opportunities to contribute and curate published content as well as advertise their business and services. This 106-page magazine is curated, designed and produced by a network of doers from across the Philadelphia region with guidance from creative mentors at The Village. Published on a shoestring budget of $13,500, the quality of CRED Magazine rivals that of professional art publications and fuels Philly’s young creative economy by awarding publishing honoraria to all contributors and sales commission to a small team of advertising sales representatives, all of whom are under the age of 25. Since inception, CRED has published 856 youth artworks, paid $11k in stipends to participating youth and received 3699 submissions, cumulatively. One-third of the total budget for CRED is currently paid out to youth staff and contributing artists in small amounts ranging from $20-$40.
