Hakima is committed to building civic power within the Fairhill-Hartranft neighborhood where she was raised, and advocating for more equitable housing and re-entry policies.
Hakima completed the People’s Paper Co-op Women in Re-entry Fellowship in 2018 and is a Certified Peer Specialist for women in recovery. Formerly ensnared in the juvenile justice system, Hakima is now a dedicated advocate for systems reform and works to create new possibilities for community members in our neighborhood through her work as a Community Connector. Hakima completed the Community Connectors Institute in 2019. Her particular focus as a connector is affordable housing, and researching resources to share with fellow community members.
